18. Can an employee
have a different payroll number than their register/employee number?
Yes, very often these two
numbers will be different for payroll company tracking. Our register
numbers correspond to the assigned POS register number, and our
Payroll numbers are assigned to correspond with the payroll company's
file numbers. Register numbers may be used over and over when
employees are terminated and new hires arrive. The Payroll numbers,
however, are not re-usable for historical reporting purposes.
